I’m back after an epic weekend of meat smorgasbord and sailing. Time for a new person post!
Meet Pete. He is my Co-Founder/Business Partner/Genius Developer/Ally at WRENDO. Most importantly, he is my friend. He is the man behind the Facebook game Dragonville. It’s a fun Pokemon-ish game but with dragons. Try it out! We’re currently working together on our new game, Sunrise Heroes. I met Pete serendipitously through our artist, Renee. They were working together on Dragonville and Renee thought to make the introduction. Best introduction ever!
This guy is talented. Whenever he has some kind of coding issue that he brings up during our meetings, I think “Uh oh. This is going to delay us. Crap!” However, I usually laugh at myself for needlessly worrying because he’ll have solved the tricky problem by the next day. Maybe he just brings up issues to mess with me. Just kidding. I know he wouldn’t do that…right? I know there’s some lurking genius going on with this guy. Did I mention that he used to be an Air Force pilot and he’s LEED certified, too? He’s probably working on solving the energy crises in his backyard with a wrench and screwdriver. Just for kicks he’s also a master fisherman.
I don’t think there’s anything this guy doesn’t do.
Since working together, I’ve known the man to be hard-working, honorable and a caring family man. He’s happily married with a cute boy and he’s incredibly dedicated to them. I take pride in surrounding myself with honest, decent people and I’m lucky to count Pete as one of them. We’re currently telecommuting, but I’ve been able to fly out to Michigan to hang out. I gotta tell you, when I was in Michigan I found it to be a nice change of pace from the busy life of California. There’s something about the place that let’s you breathe a little more and perhaps it’s more conducive to building a family. Over here we’re always on the run and rarely standing still. I have a notion of moving to a place like Michigan. My zen self is screaming for some serenity.
I couldn’t have asked for a better dedicated partner than Pete. We’re both working hard in the trenches right now to bring all of you a fun game that will enable you, the players, to be part of making the real world a better place. We plan on launching a beta version very soon. It will also give us a chance to come up for some air and enjoy our hard work. I know Pete, Renee and I deserve it. First round’s on me team!
