#15 ka-me-ha-me-HA!!!

Do you Rock the Dragon?

Elissa sure does. She’s like Goku trapped in a girls body. I randomly met her and her friend, Melton, at a pre-screening for Haywire (I’m in love with Gina Carano, btw).

There's just something about a girl that can kick ass...I wonder what it is...hmmm ;)

We all got to talking while waiting in line and the next thing you know we’re showing off each other’s tattoos, talking about how fantastic Christopher Nolan films are, spewing on about forensic investigation and then sitting together in the theater as buddies.

The first thing I noticed about Elissa is that she is just a ball of joy and all smiles.

There’s this energy of wonderment about her. She gobbles up new experiences like she’s prepping for her Kamehameha Wave and all the energy just bursts out.

I got to sit down with her a few days after our intial meetup to get to know her better. I really enjoyed how open she was about her life. Our conversation was all over the map. I found out that she’s a recent transplant from Lansing, Michigan (don’t ever show her the hand because she’s from The Hand). She’s currently going to the Art Institute in San Francisco and learning animation. Based on her love for anime, I’d say this is the perfect road for her. Evidently, not only do we both love crazy anime, but also morbid Korean movies. It’s like the yin and yang of bat shit crazy. Asians are complete nutjobs. Trust me, I am one. It’s like we were born into a collective pool of LSD and got fed mushrooms when we were babies.

We talked about how she currently has a long distance relationship with her beau in Wisconsin and how hard it’s been dealing with that. When I asked how long they’ve been together, she told me that they’re high school sweethearts. Fantastic! It gives me hope that true love exists and that it can endure great divides.

She told me about how she had to hide the fact that she had two tattoos from her parents. When her dad found out, surprisingly, he didn’t flip out, but did ask her to not get anymore while in college, since he was helping to pay for her schooling and all. On the subject of schooling, she doesn’t believe in following any formula with regards to education. She believes in following your own education path in fulfilling what you want to truly do and that people stuck in school for the wrong reasons don’t find happiness in life. Right on! I feel like she might be another entrepreneur in the making.

Entrepreneur in the making!

The whole time we were talking I felt a great deal of positive energy from her and it was definitely addicting to be around. After a long day of work, I found myself totally awake and optimistic by the time we ended our conversation. All because of one person. Keep rocking the dragon, Elissa! Kamehameha Wave!

I can just see her giggling now.

Did I do that?
